‘Government working on data protection framework regarding WhatsApp’s privacy policy’

The administration today told the Supreme Court that it was setting up a thorough information assurance system and looked for delay of the hearing on the WhatsApp protection arrangement matter.
Lawyer General Mukul Rohatgi told a five-judge constitution seat, headed by Justice Dipak Misra, that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) was advancing the information assurance system.
Rohatgi encouraged the seat that the hearing in the WhatsApp security strategy matter might be conceded for several months as the new arrangement may be settled by then.
“The legislature is effectively thinking about a complete date insurance system,” he told the seat.
The seat, which settled the matter for hearing on April 27, asked senior backer Harish Salve, who is showing up for the solicitor, to detail the issues to be pondered upon by it by August 24.
